Martha Cosplay

So, Martha. I love Martha because she is the most observant person on doctor who. She is hands down my favorite companion in the new series so far.

Now, Martha's clothes... I think her best and most known outfit would be her red leather jacket, pink tank top and jeans. She also has this whitish jacket that is also pretty cute but I'm going to focus on her other outfit right now. She wears black or sometimes brown high heels and a beaded necklace with a wide heart on it. In some episodes and pictures you see her wearing a thin bracket and something shiny in her hair. Personaly I don't think it matters and I just ignored it. Lastly her earnings, thin silver hoops.

So in Jun. 2012 I cosplayed as Martha. It wasn't a total fail but it was pretty bad. So I fixed it and it looked alot better in Aug. 2012 when I went to DragonCon where oddly enough there were like practically no Martha's.
So i'm going to go step by step to show you what you need and where to get it.

So lets get started. Now eBay is a lovely thing, i don't know where I'd be with out it. So before you spent a hundred dollars on a jacket check eBay.

The Jacket
Now I don't know a lot about my jacket but what I do no is that it is a SIENA size four. I love this jacket, it is a very nice, very soft red leather that is perfect. Now I got this jacket for $40 on eBay from the seller linda's stuff. If your very picking and can't cosplay without it being perfect than you should probably skip eBay and go strait to abbyshot. Your last option of course is to make one your self but it may run you just as much as you buying it.

The Shirt
Martha has a really complex shirt that i have found no where else. But you have two options. One - Make it. The simple way would be to just draw it on or get a close iron on. Two (which is my way) By a plain pink shirt and go with it.

The Pants

Simple - jeans. You can also add a belt if you wish.

The Shoes

Now the shoes... so I think Martha is total kick ass so I went with combat boots but to be more accurate she wears thin black or dark brow high heels, but if your not a heel person like me get yourself some black combat boots (again eBay). The closest boots I have found are Naturalizer Black Knee High Leather Boots Trinity. Just copy the name and put into google and find the best price. I suggest search eBay as well.
